What are Some Major Challenges Currently Prevalent in the Market? How are Recent Trends, Especially Technological Advancements, Helping to Address These Challenges?

One of the major challenges in the market right now is the shortage of manpower, which affects many industries. Additionally, there are issues related to the supply of materials. These challenges can disrupt production processes and increase costs.

Automation is a significant trend that’s helping tackle the manpower shortage issue. Many companies are investing in automation to reduce their dependency on labor. Furthermore, technology is being used to optimize supply chain management and reduce material supply challenges. Co-packers and process optimization are also trends helping reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Can You Tell Us About Some Successful Projects Your Company has Undertaken Recently?

We’ve recently completed a project where a client was heavily reliant on manual labor for producing their products. Our approach was to transition their production process from manual to automated, leveraging machinery. To facilitate this transition, we helped the client make the necessary investment by implementing an upcharge. The success of this project is evident, as it significantly reduced production costs and improved efficiency.

Of course, another area of our expertise involves working with suppliers to enhance their processes. We’ve assisted various suppliers in identifying suitable equipment, optimizing material deposition onto production lines, and refining mixing processes. These improvements not only boost manufacturing efficiency but also contribute to enhancing product quality.

How Do These Improvements Benefit Your Clients in the Long Run?

The benefits for our clients are twofold. Firstly, our projects often lead to cost reductions by streamlining processes and reducing labor requirements. Secondly, they enable clients to sell more competitive products in the market. By enhancing product quality and aligning with current market trends, clients can expand their market share and enjoy greater success.

Our projects are not solely about increasing manufacturing efficiency; we also place a strong emphasis on enhancing product quality. For instance, in one project, we collaborated with a supplier to improve the formulation and production processes of a chicken-based, battered product. The original formulation posed significant challenges, but our efforts helped align it with prevailing market trends. This resulted in a product that not only meets market demands but also reduces labor requirements, thus increasing the client’s capabilities.

How Do You Foresee The Future of the Industry, Given These Disruptions and Transformations?

In the future, I see the contract manufacturing sector continuing to grow. Companies may choose to outsource more of their production to cope with labor shortages and improve efficiency. This trend of outsourcing to specialized contract manufacturers is likely to strengthen as companies seek better capabilities and cost savings.

What Advice Would You Offer to Your Peers and Upcoming Professionals in This Field, Based on Your Experience?

My advice is to never accept the status quo. Always be open to innovation and change, especially when facing challenges. When considering automation, carefully assess funding options and be prepared to support your suppliers if needed. Additionally, in times of supply chain disruption, explore co-packing opportunities and be willing to adapt formulations and packaging to optimize cost efficiency. Lastly, establish strong contracts and involve your quality assurance team when collaborating with new suppliers to prevent potential issues down the line.
